Montoya Kim began his career in the financial services industry in 2007 with Fidelity Investments, where he developed a strong foundation in investment analysis through a series of analytical and leadership roles. Over the course of nearly two decades, he built a reputation for disciplined thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to understanding the complexities of modern financial markets.
In 2019, Montoya earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation, widely regarded as one of the most rigorous and respected credentials in the investment industry. The designation reflects his deep expertise in investment management, as well as his dedication to ethics, professionalism, and continuous learning.
That same year, Montoya joined Boston Harbor Wealth Advisors, where he currently serves as Vice President and Financial Advisor. In this role, he works closely with business owners, entrepreneurs, families, and individuals, helping them pursue financial independence through thoughtful planning and personalized guidance. His approach emphasizes clarity of vision, long-term discipline, and the importance of aligning financial decisions with each client’s broader life goals.

I’m married to my college sweetheart, Caroline, a dedicated nurse, and together we’re raising our three sons—Connor, Tyler, and Tanner. Family is at the center of my life and continues to be my greatest source of motivation and inspiration.
I grew up playing a wide range of sports, including football, basketball, soccer, and baseball, and I’ve carried that passion into my adult life through my children. My sons are actively involved in lacrosse, flag football, soccer, basketball, and golf, and I enjoy coaching multiple youth sports teams, including flag football and soccer. I’m passionate about not only supporting their athletic growth, but also helping instill values like leadership, teamwork, and community involvement.
Outside of coaching, I enjoy golfing with friends and family—it’s both a personal passion and a great way to maintain balance. I also have a strong appreciation for music and spend time playing the drums and guitar whenever I can.
Travel and shared experiences are important to our family. Whether it’s relaxing at a beach house, traveling with extended family, or camping outdoors, I value these moments as opportunities to strengthen relationships and create lasting memories.
I’m also an active Freemason, which reflects my commitment to service, integrity, and giving back to the community. These principles guide both my personal life and my approach to working with clients.
