Managing Director
Matt Davis began his career in wealth management in 2003 after graduating from Colgate University with a degree in Economics. He entered the industry with American Express Financial Advisors, which later became Ameriprise Financial. Over more than two decades, Matt has built his career across advisory, leadership, and firm building roles, giving him a broad and practical perspective on both client needs and the business of advice.
He is extensively licensed, holding the Series 7, 66, 9, 10, and 24 registrations, along with the AAMS designation. This depth of licensing reflects his experience not only as a financial advisor, but also in supervisory and leadership roles. During his time at Ameriprise, Matt served as a Branch Manager and later as a Complex Director, overseeing advisor teams and operations across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
In 2015, Matt co founded Boston Harbor Wealth Advisors with partners who shared a vision of building a truly independent advisory firm. Their goal was to move away from the constraints of large corporate mandates and create an organization centered on fiduciary advice, flexibility, and comprehensive planning. From 2015 through 2024, the firm partnered with Raymond James as its primary platform, providing a strong foundation for delivering multidisciplinary advice.
In 2024, Boston Harbor Wealth Advisors evolved further through a partnership with World Investment Advisors. This transition allowed the team to operate fully within the independent registered investment advisor environment while expanding custodial and platform capabilities. Today, Matt and his team work with multiple custodians, including Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, and Raymond James, enabling them to deliver solutions that are truly agnostic to any single firm, product set, or platform.
Matt’s advice model is built on comprehensive financial planning. Investment management is an important component, but it is only part of a broader strategy that includes cash flow planning, liability management, risk and insurance analysis, tax aware strategies, estate and legacy planning, and multigenerational wealth transition. He believes this integrated approach delivers the greatest value by helping clients operate as efficiently and intentionally as possible across every aspect of their financial lives.
The Boston Harbor team currently advises on more than four billion dollars in client assets, and through World Investment Advisors, is part of an organization overseeing nearly one hundred billion dollars for individual and institutional clients. Despite that scale, Matt remains focused on delivering a highly personal, relationship driven experience.
What drives Matt professionally is helping families make meaningful progress toward their goals. Whether it is preparing for retirement, funding education, purchasing second homes, building or investing in businesses, or transitioning wealth to the next generation, he finds purpose in helping clients achieve these milestones. What makes this work especially meaningful is that it is never static. As goals are achieved, priorities evolve, and new opportunities emerge, clients continually redefine what success looks like for them and their families. This creates an ongoing cycle of planning, progress, and new goal setting that keeps the work dynamic and engaging over time. Matt also deeply values the relationships he builds with clients and the trust they place in him through introductions to friends and family. Being invited to work with multiple generations and new families is both a privilege and a source of renewed energy in his practice. It is this combination of long term relationships, evolving goals, and the ability to make a lasting impact that has kept Matt passionate about the business for more than 20 years and continues to motivate him for decades to come.

I have lived in the Greater Boston area for over twenty years and currently reside in Littleton, Massachusetts with my wife, Melissa, and our teenage children, Emma and Owen. Prior to Littleton, we lived in Boston, and the city remains a big part of our lives.
As a family, we love to travel. Whether it's enjoying the white mountains of NH or traveling across the country and enjoying all the the west coast has to offer. When we aren't able to travel we spend a lot of time enjoying everything right here in our back yard, the arts, the Boston theaters, and sporting events in the city.
Athletics and staying active are central to our lives. Soccer is a major focus in our household, with both of our kids playing at a high level. I have had the pleasure and opportunity to coach youth sports for many years, particularly soccer, and continue to do so today.
Outside of traveling, heading to Boston and organized sports, I prioritize being outdoors whenever I am not in the office. Hiking and mountain biking are activities I do every week, and they are important for staying active, recharging, and maintaining balance. When time allows, I also enjoy getting out on the golf course or tennis courts.
We are also a family of dog lovers. Our dog Georgia, a multipoo, is a big part of our family and often joins us on hikes in the Littleton town trails.
My roots go back to growing up in Connecticut, where much of my extended family still lives, and we value being close enough to visit regularly to this day.
At my core, I value relationships, achievement, and long term thinking. Those principles guide how I work with clients, how I lead our team, and how I approach life with my family.
